Refund & Cancellation Policy

This policy applies to individual self-serve plans: Trial, Scholar, and Pro. Organization plans are governed by their separate order form or agreement. Billing is processed by Stripe; Stature does not store or process full card details.

Annual plans are billed once for the year at the discounted annual rate. Prices exclude applicable taxes.

The 14-day trial

The Trial requires a valid payment method at signup. The Trial gives you access for 14 days at no charge. At the end of the trial, your subscription automatically converts to the paid plan you selected and your payment method is charged for the first paid period unless you cancel before the trial ends.

You can see your trial end date and manage your subscription through the Stripe Customer Portal linked from the in-app Billing page.

How to cancel

You may cancel at any time through the Stripe Customer Portal, reachable from the in-app Billing page. No phone call or email is required. If you cannot access the portal, email [email protected] and we will help.

What happens when you cancel

Cancellation stops future renewals. You keep access to what you already paid for through the end of that period.

Refunds

Trial charges do not occur if you cancel before the trial ends. If an auto-conversion charge occurs and you intended to cancel during the trial, contact us promptly and we will work with you in good faith.

Paid subscription fees are generally non-refundable for the period already paid. On cancellation, you retain access through the end of that period rather than receiving a refund. We may issue refunds at our discretion or where required by law.

Metered add-on amounts already consumed are non-refundable. Unused prepaid add-on balances are handled case by case.

Mistaken or disputed charges

If you believe you were charged in error, email [email protected] within 30 days of the charge with your account email and charge details. Please contact us before initiating a chargeback so we can resolve it directly.

Price changes, upgrades, and downgrades

We may change subscription prices on prospective notice. Price changes do not affect the period you have already paid for.

Upgrades, such as Scholar to Pro, take effect promptly and Stripe handles any proration. Downgrades take effect at the end of the current paid period, so you keep the higher tier through what you already paid for.

Service discontinuation

If we discontinue the service or a paid plan, we will give reasonable notice and provide a pro-rata refund of prepaid, unused fees for the affected period, except where you are in material breach of the Terms.
